Architects Sutherland Shire has recently completed a major revamping of their Shire Place office space. “Cultural Hub”, a mixed-use commercial space designed to cater for the dynamic nature of both business and leisure use. “Based in Sydney’s outer east, Couvaras Architects Sutherland Shire have been designing award winning premises since 2005. We’re a small, group-based firm, with big creative ideas – and a growing portfolio of award-winning projects. We love creating opportunities for change through the use of multiple spaces and public spaces, mixed with the ability to create a real connection between the people and the natural environment.”

Architects Sutherland Shire is renowned for their sustainable building practices, particularly their waterfront properties in Lindsay and Belmont. They have undertaken sustainable design principles for such projects as residential buildings, townhouses, cafes, restaurants, waterfront cafes, residential apartments, townhouses with retail units and an L-shaped pedestrian cafe. “We take great pride in our waterfront properties and we’re working hard to make them accessible and beautiful,” said Mrs. Claire O’Rourke, Design Development Manager for Architects Sutherland Shire. “We have a group of expert environmental engineers who are responsible for the maintenance of our coastal wetland systems, which are in a state of transition. We’re committed to protecting and conserving these areas for future generations.”

Estrellas Architects has four buildings under construction in Lindsay. These include the forthcoming building at 8 Pyrmont Road, a residential facility meant to include retail and leisure space. The other two buildings slated for construction in Lindsay are the proposed Retail Hub on Oxford Street and the Planned Retail Facility at Belmont Park. Expected to be completed in late 2010, these two projects will feature award-winning architecture from architects Atkins, Kiehls, Rubia and Snell. Architects from around the world are expected to contribute to the design of these two upcoming residential and commercial complexes.
